HEALTHY SNACKS FOR TEA TIME

We have whipped up five healthy teatime snacks for you below to help you achieve a healthy lifestyle-

1. Pumpkin seeds: Pumpkin seeds are suffused with minerals, antioxidants and flavor, making them one of the healthiest options to snack on along with your daily simmering hot cup of chai. Depending on what you prefer, you can have them roasted or boiled. If you like your food spicy, season the pumpkin seeds with a pinch of curry powder, cayenne pepper and chipotle flakes. You can have have them like this, or add freshly chopped veggies like chopped cucumber and tomatoes, and season with a little salt and pepper.

3. Moong Dal Chila: If you have the sudden urge to eat, a moong dal chila is the right choice. This easy to make chila is not just healthy but it also leaves you feeling full and satisfied. This dish is easy to whip up and is light on the stomach as well. It’s made using gram flour batter, which is mixed with onion, tomato and a few different masalas. The dose of the gram flour present in the chila, gives you the right amount of protein to start your day. If you like snacks with gram flour or besan, you can also try besan bread. Opt for brown bread while you prepare this snack, as brown bread’s nutrition is comparatively higher when compared to other kinds of bread.

4. A Trail Mix of Nuts: Almonds, cashews, walnuts, dates and prunes are all packed with numerous antioxidants. Moreover, you’ll be happy to know that this simple snack is rich in fibers that aid in weight loss. Munching on trail mix of nuts can also do wonders for your heart. As these nuts have a high content of unsaturated fats present in them, it reduces the inflammation of the arteries and raises your good cholesterol.
